UPDATE - Script has with Feature Pack 2 and the extensions to compatibility mode with Feature Pack 3. mode graphics have been updated delivery by releasing FrameHawk
some time ago I wrote an article about the "HDX coding" or HDX graphics modes in XenDesktop 7, a subject that was here has been found extended to recently in another great article, that really delves into the policy settings and additional recommendations and I recommend you read both as background for this post. In fact, I'm not here to cover any details are the graphics surrounding modes, as I assume you read the articles about or the relevant section in the Virtual Desktop Manual at bandwidth requirements.
Troubleshooting the HDX graphics mode
This has to declare an area of confusion and the recent article CTX0370 for some several options, great is the graphics mode to find out. However, these methods are all on one work per session basis and for large customers, I needed a bird's eye view on their missions to get time for troubleshooting to minimize. What I want to share today is a PowerShell script, does exactly the 😉. The script asks a XenApp / XenDesktop site 7.x and summarizes HDX graphics modes information about all active sessions in the website in a simple CSV to read. This should help someone graphics issues on a site for troubleshooting, particularly issues related to the compatibility mode encoder used. The report should look similar to the bottom of the screenshot.
An explanation of how to use the script and as the summary is to be interpreted as a read in the script provided. It is here on Share File available Enjoy: ..)
