Director requires information from the VDAS to retrieve information about user sessions available, for example, CPU , store display, run applications, etc.

Director 2.1 and earlier

In Director 2.1 and earlier, the information retrieval has been through direct communication between the director and VDAS remote management with Windows achieved (WinRM).

The XenDesktop installer can automatically enable and configure WinRM for use by Director. If you do not select WinRM automatically configure the XenDesktop installer or install WinRM running after the XenDesktop installer, then these changes can be made manually. The WinRM port must not be opened.

In order to support WMI Proxy service, sends the query to the Director Delivery Controller. Delivery Controller will turn send the query to the VDA an existing secure communication channel between Delivery Controller and VDA. The WMI proxy plug-in, which is loaded as part of the broker agent in VDA, is by sending the information necessary to respond to the query. By doing this director does not need WinRM ports on the VDA and the WMI queries to open will be run locally on the VDA about WMI proxy plug.

for XenDesktop 7.0 or later installations, there is no need for WinRM Director configure that retrieve the data from the VDAS. However, if users VDAS earlier than XenDesktop have 7 installed (Legacy VDA), Director will use to query the required data to the WinRM calls. WinRM must be configured to work for Director with these older VDAS.

App-V packages that run in a virtual environment (or bubble)

In App-V 5 a can pull random processes / programs in an App-V environment

This is well documented and there are a number of blogs that discuss how to do this, but as a refresher here are the three methods :.

that's all pretty amazing, but it got me thinking, what starts in the virtual environment, another non-App-V process, if an application does not happen, they start it within the virtual environment (one would hope that is the case) or not.

To test how the Start works, I wrote a very simple application that enumerates all of the modules in a process and also (re) launches itself. I would then start with the / appvve switch and check seeing as looking through a sentinel value, whether the process is in the virtual environment was or not.

The guard value AppVEntSubsystems32.dll (seems AppVEntSubsystems64 probably. DLL for 64-bit processes).

, the results are convincing, as will be launched as a second process can see, and it starts with no additional work within the virtual environment, as one would expect.

NetScaler Snips to an interface without VLAN

That's right! Did you know that the NetScaler another method has to bind a SNIP IP address to an interface without an L3 (layer three) to create VLAN? Well, it is, so keep reading below how to learn.

Interestingly, the function which I will discuss in this blog post imported into NetScaler Firmware Release 10.0, but perhaps many of you who have provided the NetScaler in your area have never seen this feature in fact, and hence the reason for this particular post.

Historically there have been two main methods to ensure that the traffic for a particular network determined / subnet on the NetScaler one would traverse desired interface:

I will not invest the time to explain the two methods mentioned above, considering that my focus for this post is this newer discuss and not so well-known method, a similar result is achieved.

You can bind the ARP entry by adding each of the following Snips in the example below, a special interface to a SNIP. This is to ensure that the response traffic will reach the same interface, through which the request was

While Citrix Cloud Platform 4.5 has Citrix hard working, reliable and consistent performance over capabilities to ensure how to create, delete and VMs migrate.
