Encryption

The battle between Apple and the FBI privacy and security may have been paused, but the war on encryption still continues to grow as the government refuses to respond to the anti-encryption legislation proposed by senators Richard Burr and Dianne Feinstein in 2015.

We are now approaching the 170th day in the fight against anti-encryption laws. A letter written by 37 academics, NGOs and businesses was sent to the White House, respectfully asking that they oppose the law which would ultimately "undermine the security and reaffirm the need for broad statement of support for encryption of the administration. "that letter reminded the administration that he had been more than 0 days a pro-encryption SaveCrypto.org petition was presented to the House white with more than 100,000 signatures of individuals and organizations that opposed the draft anti-encryption law. in the past, and with any other type of petition, the white House "designed" to meet those exceeding 100,000 signatures in 60 days - so why did it take so long to respond to something as essential as the stripping citizens of their privacy online

This bill basically states that "everyone that provides a product or method to facilitate communication or processing or storing data "are needed to provide less security to their users to easily allow government access. It is impossible to disagree with the fact that this undermining of security threaten the privacy and security of Internet users. Even with this great price, there is still no guarantee that this legislation will actually facilitate the investigation of crime and terrorism since those involved in illegal activities may very well be other ways to protect their devices and communications.

The government has worked hard to pressure companies (like Apple) to give them access to public information, or to obtain a sort of "master key" that will allow them to unlock and hack encrypted communications on cell phones, tablets, computers, and more. However, technology experts across the country agree on the fact that the exhibitor technologies based on encryption could jeopardize not only the data and the public technology that rely on encryption, but the government. SaveCrypto.org worked tirelessly to petition against any proposal for the questioning of security, and tried to convince the president to approve strong encryption not only the US but around the world.

Signatures acquired MA-encryption petition include those of Access Now, Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), and our team here at IPVanish. We support no doubt the need for strong encryption, and we strongly oppose government proposals to undermine the safety of users. We fight alongside SaveCrypto and many other pro-encryption movements across the country to protect citizens' right to privacy. We hope President Obama will hear the pleas of encrypting and protecting sensitive data from the public and support and we are patiently waiting for a response from him on this issue.
