HP Moonshot XenDesktop
When the moon meets the eye like a great idea, oh my, that is innovation ... Or so similar.
at the beginning of the year at Citrix Synergy 2014 I had meeting a standing room only, where we see the XenDesktop Moonshot deal presented for the fist time, saying also via the new XenApp for Moonshot demo only in the keynote we showed earlier that day. One of the ideas that we showed during my meeting was to create and also to control power management for pooled physical desktops XenDesktop and HP Moonshot Wizard pooled physical desktops.
Currently XenDesktop HCL function uses 
to also control to the hypervisor management stack as System Center 2012R2 Virtual Machine Manager to deploy virtual machines and to energy of virtual talking machine on HyperV. In the case of HP Moonshot there are no hypervisor, which means that it is no management stack so the question then is how you summarized providing physical bare metal desktops PVS and control power without the hypervisor and the management stack?
In comes the XenDesktop SDK and PowerShell PVS us to have the same deployment and power management without the hypervisor or management stack, enable. Since Synergy meeting the captain of Quick Shadow Code and long time Citrite Ronn Martin @Ronn_Martin a new version of Moonshot wizard at work has build been hard, we would love for our customers, the HP and Moonshot XenDesktop 7.1, 7.5 and 7.6 , test. Of course we test our code and so a special thanks to Patrick Brennan of Citrix for My Wingman be testing and improving the code all these months. I could not have done without ya! While this is a great innovation concept between Citrix and HP, it is not part of the console native Citrix PVS or Studio and therefore unsupported considered. However, we welcome any feedback and do our best to answer any technical questions that may arise link using the Forum

We have a new set of tools that are now available! These tools were tested on a chassis with Moonshot m700 and M710 cartridge with the HP CM release version 1.3.0 and chassis firmware 4.6.0. All other earlier or later version has not been tested at the time of updating this article

NOTE: This new version has been tested ONLY with PVS 7.6 and XenDesktop 7.6 VDA without Citrix Feature Packs. All other previous Citrix PVS and XenDesktop versions were not tested. Please report any issues that use URL Forum at the end of this article.

The XenDesktop HP made Moonshot tools available currently not supported Citrix tools. Use of these instruments should be tested carefully and used in a laboratory environment.
