Three steps to the integration of XenDesktop VDI 5.6 and XenApp 6.5 with desktop applications

- XenDesktop 5.6 and XenApp 6.5 are Citrix enterprise technologies with their individual merits in VDI and Application / Desktop Virtualization. However, when the two solutions are integrated, enterprise IT can achieve true abstraction of the operating system, applications and user data. This abstraction reduces operations and maintenance costs, provides business agility, and improved enterprise security. The good news is that XenDesktop 5.6 license allows this type of integration, but each user consumes one license regardless of how many sessions they have through the XenDesktop 5.6 and XenApp 6.5 farms - XenDesktop and XenApp farms can share the same License server. In this blog I share the general guidelines I follow when integrating with XenDesktop 5.6 XenApp 6.5:

Step 1 - Build XenDesktop 5.6 farm (note: if you already have a XenApp 6.5 farm with Web Interface configured, do not reinstall Web Interface)

step 2 - Build XenApp 6.5 farm (Note :. if you already have a XenDesktop 5.6 farm with Web Interface configured so do not reinstalling the Web Interface)

Step 3 -. Web Interface Configure to integrate XenDesktop 5.6 XenApp 6.5

  1. Log on to the server where the Web Interface is installed
  2. Add at least one server from each farm in battery configuration servers
  3. Test access to your virtual office via the Web URL
  4. interface
