Project Avalon Excalibur Technology Preview was announced at Citrix Synergy 2012 in Barcelona, and is available on MyCitrix.com since November 1 , 2012.
We have created a series of short videos, each about 3 minutes, to help a rapid assessment of this new version of Citrix generation.
These videos are by no means exhaustive feature a demonstration of this "giant step" release. They are intended to help you start and develop familiarity with the interface before undertaking a more detailed assessment. You can find a very detailed and useful information about the download page Excalibur. For this series, the target audience is someone with at least basic familiarity with previous versions of Citrix XenApp and Citrix XenDesktop.
videos guide you through the steps to download and install the software, the establishment of an Excalibur website, the creation of machinery catalogs and distribution groups, as well as access end-user applications or published desktops from Citrix Receiver. It also addresses Citrix Director for help desk operations and troubleshooting by Citrix specialists.
In the examples, we deliver desktops and applications both desktop operating systems (Windows 8 and Windows 7) and server operating systems (Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 08R2 ). This is a very simple demonstration of what is in itself a rather simple product.
Citrix Excalibur is equivalent to a point-and-shoot digital camera, with the performance of an SLR. intuitive wizards and unified consoles to provide both applications and desktops, all redesigned based on research from the comprehensive user and customer feedback, make administration and management a breeze. The total duration of the video series is about 30 minutes. The evaluation stage should take about 3 hours (excluding Windows VM installation). Use these videos to help you get started and experience the technology preview Excalibur firsthand. Ideally, watch videos in their original order and do not skip steps.
