"An IP address provides only where one of a number of computer devices may be deployed, much like a telephone number can be used for a number of phones," writes judge Brown. He continues to talk about how it would have been possible before the Internet wirelessly, but with the popularity of wireless Internet, an IP address is simply not good enough for the courts to be used as identification.
