2013 Report Actions Which companies Support of the Electronic Frontier Foundation Protect your data

According to the Electronic Frontier Foundation, when you use the Internet, you entrust your conversations, thoughts, experiences, locations, photos and more companies like Google, aT & T and Facebook. But what do these companies do when the government requests your private information? Are they with you? Do they let you know what happens?

These are questions that the third year Who has your back? report answers. The first report was prepared in 2011 and was posted to recognize best practice companies. But this year, companies were evaluated on six criteria:

  1. Requiring a warrant for the content of the communications
  2. Tell users about government data requests
  3. publish transparency reports
  4. Post of enforcement guidelines
  5. fight for the rights of privacy in the courts
  6. struggle for users users privacy in Congress

to Who has your back? , lawyers and activists of the EFF discuss company policies and legal services interview to find out exactly how companies deal with government requests for data. Their responses are examined and the stars are given to companies with policies and leading practices, helping Privacy conscious users make informed decisions and encourages companies to step up.
