After XenApp 7.6 Upgrade Webinar deliver
I got to ask a few questions, whether it is a good idea, upgrade from XenApp 7.5 to XenApp 7.6.
My first reaction is, "Of course you should. Why would not you?"
But I'm a little biased J
you need to give yourself when the new wonder functions within XenApp 7.6 are important enough to upgrade. Check out the following subset of features and determine whether they are something that would be of value to the user and Admin:
- Unauthenticated logons: This feature allows an application can access a user without must authenticate. This function is mainly used in health care. If you need this, you need to go XenApp 7.6 Feature
- connection Leasing: You ever see Star Trek and hear the engineers speak with secondary fuses? A secondary backup will not let your spaceship Warp reach 9, but it will explode keep your ship. That's essentially what connection Leasing does for your XenApp Web site. Your first layer of backup is to configure your database highly available (mirroring, clustering or AlwaysOn). If that fails, you want to have a secondary backup, the connection is leasing. Another XenApp 7.6-only function
- App Usage: Provides additional reporting features for administrators, so that they can see traffic patterns for the applications. It's good to know what your users are using
- Fast-app access :. "You need patience, my young Padawan who" is great if you are a Jedi. Unfortunately takes my patience for my registration wait. A Windows application includes a list of things (policies, login scripts, drive mappings, etc.) that must be run before you get to an application. Fast app access has substantially all session creation processes before requesting an app, greatly reducing logon times. In a production environment, the registration process that the user experience is as follows :.

What's nice about 7.5 be on XenApp and 7.6 is on XenApp upgrade, the upgrade path is very simple. At a high level, you substantially as follows:
You will notice that these are all the upgrades. No need to re-create. Of course, if you want more details and instructions, then take a look at the article below eDocs.
The XenApp 7.5-7.6 Upgrade probably one of the smoothest upgrade I've ever done, and I have practically update since WinFrame.
