Citrix recently announced that it is now a corporate sponsor of the OpenStack Foundation.
Given the central role that Citrix has played CloudStack project in Apache, some involved with cloud may find this odd or even worrying. I thought it was worth this direct approach.

When I at the OpenStack Silicon Valley event said in September last year, I do not believe that innovation is a zero-sum game. Innovations happen anywhere and as a company, we are to be involved.

Citrix remains a leading member of the project and we have many, dedicated, full-time engineers who focus primarily on cloud - and our commercial derivative Citrix Cloud Platform. We supply hundreds of large customers, the large-scale, public and private clouds with this technology. We plan to continue to support them and help develop the technology in the future.
As a company, we are happy about what we can bring to all cloud standards organizations in which we participate. By participating in projects like OpenStack, Cloud, OpenDaylight and the Xen project we think we can change the state of the industry to help push forward.
