Access Gateway features a license for the platform, which runs on the ICA Proxy access (Equivalent functionality of the Secure Gateway) and more and more of it, can have universal access license, which runs on the analysis of point final, SmartAccess, and full tunnel SSLVPN for Windows and Mac devices. All variants have the Access Gateway license the platform as an integrated law (so nothing needs to be purchased, other than the platform itself) If the only thing needed was a secure remote access to XenDesktop environments / XenApp - then just the Access Gateway platform should suffice. Obviously, there are security and usability additional benefits that come into play, using the universal access licenses
There are two variants of the AG platform -.
- Access Gateway (Enterprise) VPX - that supports up to 500 concurrent users (same capacity as the outgoing VPX AG on base versions 5.x and 4.x software)
- Access Gateway (Enterprise) MPX - which supports up to 5000 concurrent users (based on the NetScaler MPX 5500 platform)
for higher user capacity, the NetScaler before 7500, provide superior scalability
regarding the Universal licenses -.
1. They can be purchased standalone
2. They are right to XenDesktop / XenApp Platinum
3. They have a right to CloudGateway Enterprise
In the context of CloudGateway Enterprise, the Universal license turns the microphone VPN on iOS and Android Receivers, which now allows us to browse all web intranet sites from these devices, when connected to a public network. For more information on Micro VPN - see my other blog here
