Do you use Citrix Quick Launch? -

Have you ever heard or used Citrix Quick Launch? If not, download it from our knowledge center and test http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX122536

It is important to note that Citrix Quick Launch is not supported by the Citrix technical Support, so you use it at your own risk. However, many administrators take advantage of the tool as a quick way to connect using ICA / HDX their XenApp environment.

It is also important to understand that Citrix Quick Launch is not a substitute for the Citrix ICA Client Online plug-in or a receiver. It can not function without it (although it is compatible with all version published over the last 5 years). Moreover, it has never been developed or published with end users in mind: it is not a supported product and is only intended for testing environments and administrators

So, now you downloaded and failed to run !. . Why? this version is (shame on me, I know ..) written in a very old Visual Basic and has dependencies on TABCTL32.OCX that are not supplied by Microsoft in recent versions of Windows. Since it is not a Citrix file, you must search the web, do not worry, there are many sites where you can get.

So now you have downloaded, found TABCTL32.OCX, recorded and you can run the tool. I suggest taking some time to play with it before reading further :-)

Why am I writing this now when the tool is available for several years and has not been update since September 2011? Because I want to give an overview of the next release and I need your feedback about whether it is worthwhile to spend my personal free time on it ...

No, I will not include a beta, but only 3 screenshots and I'll just wait for your comments ...

This new version will have a more fancy interface and will ultimately be written in .Net Framework in order to not have to worry about former outbuildings more (warning: you still need to have the Citrix ICA Client Online plug-in or a receiver installed on your Windows system)

EDIT (03/12/12): Citrix Quick Launch 3.1 is now available and fixes all the problems that have been reported so far. Check it out on http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX122536

Thanks for reading!
