Citrix now offers NEBS (Network Equipment Building System) Level 3 certified devices NetScaler for telco, service provider and mobile operators. NEBS is a telecommunications standard to ensure the equipment is highly resistant to environmental impacts. Compliance is required in the telecommunications core (where telephone calls are routed) for fire safety, hardened protection (eg lightning or earthquakes) and monitoring. North American telcos require compliance with NEBS and this capacity is also highly desirable in the world. NetScaler actually goes beyond compliance and is fully certified by Met Laboratories.
NEBS robust platform options are available for MPX and SDX versions of 11500, 13500, 14500, 16500, 18500 and 20500 models. Changes used for NEBS certification is purely mechanical (eg, chassis, power supply, etc.) and does not affect existing performance, configuration of ports, power consumption or other measures. NetScaler MPX with NEBS can be converted into NetScaler SDX with NEBS on site via field replaceable upgrades. These models are available with Pay-As-You-Grow and Burst performance improvements of the pack, clustering TriScale and any optional function modules.
