Citrix @WorkMail happened ... Why? -
Why email? Why not native email? Why Citrix? ... These are questions I often get when talking about our new entry on the market of mobile business. This is a big bet made Citrix and could be considered a major step outside our traditional app delivery and infrastructure range. On the other hand, we think it makes much sense, here's why.?
Why Email
are eyeballs are ... Email is far the best app that business users depend on, all day, especially when mobile. Inter-related mail is Calendar and Contacts so we've included that too in the same application. Each company to develop a mobility strategy must define a plan for e-mail first. Not only is it a great market, but we also believe Citrix can provide BEST email app for monitoring and user experience.
.
Why native email a problem for IT?
native email works ok, but ... From an IT point of view consider the simple scenario of a user viewing an attachment When you view ... the user gets the built in option to open the document in any application that is registered with the same file type. So if a user has a personal Dropbox account, then Dropbox shows and easily opens and syncs the document to a personal cloud completely out of control ... IT ... Game over IP is gone .. With @WorkMail, only run applications that are protected by the MDX container technology are visible at the opening function in. While Dropbox or Evernote personal are not visible regardless of the file type. Beyond this example, many other issues that IT must consider before allowing BYOD.
.
Why is a native email problem for users?
from the perspective of the user there are many limitations native iOS (and Android) email. Simple things we take for granted on the PC simply do not work with the basic native applications. For example, if I receive an email request for the document, I can not answer simply attach a doc and say "here." I have to go to another document app find the doc and create a new message from this app re-enter the address, subject, message etc. @WorkMail With a single click on an attachment icon provides access to the docs doc Sharefile click to insert the link, click send and your done
Another simple example !; setting up a meeting with colleagues is unnecessary with the implementation of native calendar because you can not see the time intervals open on multiple calendars. With @WorkMail when setting up a meeting, it's easy to invite colleagues and see their free time before booking a meeting. Beyond a simple click you can make a meeting of a GoToMeeting without allowing another application.
.
Why Citrix?
Citrix has been a trusted brand solving computer problems for more than twenty years. More recently, Citrix has also provided leading solutions for collaboration with GoToMeeting and ShareFile for sharing documents. These are natural applications to integrate with Email and Calendar as indicated above. In addition, Podio has a potential for integration with e-mail and optimize the experience and workflow.
The traditional business of providing secure access to corporate applications and data from Windows servers will not disappear, but now the same IT organizations need to activate Windows, Web, HTML5 and mobile applications to any device.
Citrix has now made mobility a top priority for the company :-) and we have been investing heavily in engineering resources and product design to provide an enterprise-class solution with a superior user experience. We believe that Citrix is uniquely positioned to help companies allow BYOD productivity gains while offering the benefits of security and management leveraging the same Citrix infrastructure that manages applications and data for all users through all devices. The alternatives provide only limited time solution targeting devices and what we hear, the security guy may approve, but users hate.
.
So why should email make Citrix? Why not?
