Monitoring the performance improvements Pack for XenServer 6.1 -

The recent release of XenServer 6.1 came up with what I thought was a very useful extra pack that allowed a wide range of settings to monitor on XenServer hosts.

The performance monitoring Supplemental pack Improvements RRD provides additional measures such as I / O and latency that can be accessed in XenCenter. I'm really happy to see us put this in. These are feature people really wanted and needed so we made a conscious decision to try to meet customer demand on shorter than normal time scales (hence the deployment via additional package).

A new utility has also been provided on rrd2csv tool [quiseconnecteraàRRDSCommaSeparatedValues(CSV)CelaaétéfournienréponseauxdemandesdesutilisateurspourunealternativelégèreauformatstandardXMLRRDLesdétailscompletsdel'emballagesupplémentairepeuventêtretrouvésdanshttp://supportcitrixcom/article/CTX135033

However, some users have reported that the measures do not show. We reviewed the reports on the state of the server (for bugtools) collected from those users and found that the measures do not work on some configurations with certain types of storage. We are working on fixing this and we will re-release the additional pack soon. On many systems (which included our test boxes!), You will see no problems, so it is always worth trying the pack if you are interested.

If you develop applications or utilities above functionality, setting up a test area should allow you to work around the issue and see the available measures and their format. We suggest a simple test configuration, we know works without problems using just-based SR LVHD and avoid other types of storage for now (this includes ensuring that there is no ISOs attached to VMs)

As always ,. it goes to show that if you have a problem with XenServer, giving us the bugtools usually leads to quicker resolution. My colleagues have already posted about how you can help us fix the problems (and your help is really appreciated), see /blogs/2012/07/16/writing-good-bug-reports-for-xenserver/.
