at Citrix Synergy 2014 I saw one of the most fascinating demos of NVIDIA GPUs with Citrix XenApp Autodesk Revit to deliver. We have a lot about blogging as XenApp is a really effective and user satisfactory cost way Autodesk applications running on vSphere, XenServer or physical servers with NVIDIA or AMD GPUs.
was to provide this demonstration not so much about the underlying cost of the technology though but end-user experience and benefits. NVIDIA commissioned a real CAD to design drafter a house over three days at the synergy their GRID GPU technology; this meant that the time to go back-to-time and observe how they and the various stages of design from 2D plans to 3D rendering and ray tracing was advanced. It was a fascinating insight into the design process and I was delighted to find a blog by the designer himself on the GreenDrafters blog that here.
designers are demanding and sensitive by nature to the user-experience and I was delighted his comments to see:
- "The short answer is. I was blown away "
[1945012[
- " The bottom line is that I no performance degradation between my personal workstation and the NVIDIA GRID K2 VDI not noticed "
I was also seeing gushed as the designer himself began to introduce different, work better with virtualization technologies:
- "What I have noticed the simple thin client on my desk was that much less space, requires far fewer cables and caused far less clutter than my workplace. "
- took " I have my Macbook Air or maybe even an iPad continue the design work away from my office, perhaps could use at a Starbucks. "
- "I also recognized the fascinating potential of client / designer collaboration at the construction site. Tweaking the design with the customer in Revit, prior place. Well, that's cool. " (This is something that we at Citrix, constantly hear from architects and Autodesk users find some similar applications to IMSCAD Citrix case Study page)
the company NVIDIA chose to do this demo, GreenDrafters, an AutoCAD drawing creation and design company that focus on 100% renewable practices, improving the design criteria to reduce by their carbon footprint are green to achieve design standards. I thought this was particularly useful because some of the less mentioned benefits of virtualization are the potential environmental benefits. There are many reports like this from Infosys, which describes how virtualization can help companies achieve environmental goals.
So if you are one of the many events visit NVIDIA, I really recommend their booths check out and find out if they have one of these in-depth multi-day demonstrations underway. It is quite simply a stunning graphical demo for 5 minutes to show (to avoid any niggles, choose a simple application or task, etc.). The proof of the technique is really that a real user to reach the entire design process, can use, and _complete_. This is the kind of demo that can not be faked. It is also very revealing, as you can see how easy the designer actually be used to find the application and interact with the technology
. Note: We have put together some tips for configuring Autodesk applications, here. If you have any further questions, please call questions ask either on the Citrix forums, here; or the NVIDIA forums, here; where you. Your plans with other users, and our support and technical staff

discuss Subscribe NVIDIA GTC 2015 - now open
Perhaps the best opportunity, realistic and informative demos to see NVIDIA GTC Conference, March 17 th - 20 th 2015 in Silicon Valley; Citrix will showcase and sponsorship. Many of the HDX and Citrix team will also be available. Some of the impressive videos from last time are at the bottom of one of my blogs, can be found here. Registration is now open (see here), and I'll upgrade to details what the Citrix HDX and teams will show in the coming weeks. If you are interested in remote 3D graphics, CAD, games, etc. It is worth to observe the development agenda, the already listed some fascination meetings, all kinds of fields such as astrophysics, financial modeling, gaming, HPC .. ..
