New Products
The initial release provides the necessary for MDM functionality migration support only and one of the requirements for the database only in MDM mode to be. The Citrix XenMobile team will continue to update added support for MAM and supply and XME later this year
You have 2 options if the XM run 10 migration tool .:
- Test Drive - option to evaluate the tool: this is for testing purposes only, as you will not be able to make a production facility with the option to migrate
- production - option a production XM 9 environment to migrate the new XM-10 platform.
Why migrate now?
customers with existing production environments to migrate new XenMobile want without the need to enroll 10 platform advantage of the new feature set of the recovery, to take over the device.
Why MDM only migration?
The goal for this first release is to enable MDM only to support the migration of our MDM customer base to take advantage of the new XM-10 platform. Added support for MAM and MDM + MAM (XME) will come later this year
. Prerequisites:
- XM 10 migration tool requires a collection of files from the existing XM 9 server and database. The list of files you have collected in the readme notes with the tool. This information is displayed when to start the process of migration.
- The customer receives need MDM ONLY database. Only XenMobile Device Manager instances are supported, and this is database platform-specific (eg. PostgreSQL to PostgreSQL or MSSQL MSSQL). No cross-platform support.
- A new XenMobile 10 Virtual Server required and the required database provisioned for its operation.
Once collected the requirements and validated, the following procedure should be followed:
- contains the necessary files and certificates from the existing XM 9 Server "must be Enrollment FQDN used" Create a ZIP file
- create a new XMS virtual machine and configure a brand new database
- Select the upgrade option after the XMS installation
- to connect to the newly created XMS with https: //
/ uw migration portal - update the migration tool to latest.bin file Mycitrix.com
- Select access an option: test Drive or production
- browse and download the newly created ZIP file (see # 1)
- check the existing XM 9 DB credentials and the XMS can check 10 Server to access the database.
- completed the process and make sure that the server is restarted, so that the migration tool to process
- change the DNS for the testing of the new server
for a detailed description of this process to complete, I have attached to a hands-on exercise of one of my training on the XenMobile 10 platform.
